Singareni CMD orders shift to quality-centric coal production

Hyderabad: Singareni Chairman and Managing Director D. Krishna Bhaskar on Wednesday directed all divisions to shift focus towards quality-centric coal production, citing market demand for high-grade coal.

Addressing a review meeting via video conference, Bhaskar instructed general managers and directors to take decisive steps to meet existing targets while ensuring that coal quality remains a top priority. He noted that consumers now insist on specified-grade coal, making quality compliance essential for business sustainability.

He stressed that the company can no longer afford to prioritise quantity over quality, stating that the organisation’s future depends on collective efforts from every officer and employee to align with revised quality benchmarks.

Despite acknowledging that production targets have slightly fallen behind this year due to various factors, Bhaskar outlined clear daily performance goals for the remainder of the financial year. These include achieving a minimum daily coal output of 2.20 lakh tonnes, transporting 2.40 lakh tonnes, and removing 15.5 lakh cubic meters of overburden.
