Hyderabad: A Shamshabad road accident near Palamakula killed four members of a family and left the car driver seriously injured. The crash occurred when a speeding Innova lost control, hit a culvert and overturned.
Police identified the deceased as businessman Kethavath Limbya, 54, Kethavath Jamuna, 45, Katravath Mansingh, 48, and Kethavath Vasram, 45.
The family members were travelling towards Hyderabad from Mettugadda Thanda in Nawabpet mandal of Mahabubnagar district. The accident occurred near Palamakula on the outskirts of Shamshabad.
Car driver Ashok suffered serious injuries in the crash. Police received information about the incident and quickly reached the spot to begin rescue operations.
Officers shifted the injured driver to a private hospital for treatment. They also moved the bodies to the Osmania mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Shamshabad road accident triggers police investigation
Police initially suspected speeding and negligent driving as the cause of the crash. The Innova reportedly lost control before hitting the culvert and overturning.
Meanwhile, Shamshabad police registered a case following the accident. Officers began investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
The deceased were members of the same family, according to the information available to police. The injured driver remained under treatment at a private hospital.
Police continued their investigation into the Shamshabad road accident. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination at the Osmania mortuary.
