Hyderabad: TGSPDCL commissioned an upgraded 12.5 MVA power transformer at the 33/11 kV Shadnagar Substation on Tuesday night. The Shadnagar power transformer enhancement increased the PTR capacity from 8 MVA to 12.5 MVA.
The work was carried out in Shadnagar Division under Rajendra Nagar Circle in RR Zone. The utility successfully idle-charged the transformer at 9.56 pm. Subsequently, officials reported that the electricity supply remained normal and healthy.
The capacity enhancement added transformation capacity to the local distribution system. Moreover, TGSPDCL said the upgrade strengthened power infrastructure in the Shadnagar area. It also improved system reliability and supported the growing electricity demand from consumers.
Shadnagar power transformer work involved multiple teams
Several technical and field teams coordinated the Shadnagar power transformer commissioning. The work involved the DE/Protection and TRE-II/Rajendra Nagar and the ADE/Operation Shadnagar.
In addition, the ADE/TRE/Rajendra Nagar participated in the work. AEs from the Operation, TRE and Protection teams also contributed. Field staff supported the teams during the enhancement and commissioning process.
TGSPDCL credited the successful completion to coordination among these officials, technical teams and field personnel. The utility said their efforts helped strengthen the distribution network. It also said the work supported reliable and quality power supply to consumers.
