Hyderabad: The Railway Ministry approved third and fourth railway lines between Secunderabad (Ghatkesar) and Kazipet across 110 km, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy said. The project carries an estimated cost of Rs 2,419 crore.
Kishan Reddy announced the approval in a post on X. He said the additional tracks would reduce rail congestion and speed up passenger and freight movement.
The project would also improve rail access to key destinations in the region. These include the Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Yadagirigutta and the historic Bhongir Fort.

In addition, Kishan Reddy said the project would support local businesses. The additional tracks would create more capacity for trains operating along the route.
The minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for supporting railway infrastructure development in Telangana.
Meanwhile, the approved project covers 110 km between Ghatkesar and Kazipet. The Railway Ministry estimated its cost at Rs 2,419 crore.
