Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Monday reviewed train safety operations and crowd management plans. This was done ahead of the Sankranti festival, ensuring passenger safety during one of the busiest travel periods.
SCR GM reviews Sankranti safety, crowd control measures
The high-level review meeting was held at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. It was connected via video conference with Divisional Railway Managers from all six divisions—Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal, and Nanded. Key officials, including Additional General Manager Satya Prakash and principal heads of departments, participated.
Srivastava emphasized robust crowd control, urging full deployment of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at key stations. This includes booking counters and platforms. He directed officials to supervise boarding and deboarding procedures closely. Moreover, he ensured regular announcements and clear signage for both regular and special trains.
He also reviewed fire safety preparedness and instructed teams to conduct regular inspections, enforcing strict safety compliance. Passengers were urged to report unsafe practices using the RPF, 139 Rail Madad helpline, or the Rail-One App.
Holding train escort staff accountable, the General Manager reminded both passengers and railway staff to adhere to all safety protocols. This is crucial for a safe and smooth Sankranti travel experience.
