Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday appointed Sarvesh Singh as the new Director and CEO of Telangana Life Sciences. IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu welcomed Singh at the Secretariat. He urged him to leverage his 22 years of experience to strengthen the State’s biotech and pharma ecosystem.
The Minister noted that Telangana leads the country in life sciences innovation and continues to expand its global footprint. He said Singh’s appointment comes at a time when the State is accelerating growth in the sector through strategic infrastructure projects. Furthermore, international partnerships are contributing to this growth.
Telangana leads in pharma and biotech exports
Sridhar Babu recalled that one-third of the world’s vaccines are supplied from Telangana. Hyderabad is firmly positioned as the global vaccine capital as well. He added that the State ranks first nationally in pharmaceutical exports.
He also highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to expand Genome Valley and enhance biotech infrastructure. These efforts are opening new avenues for industry growth and innovation in the life sciences domain.
