Sajjanar slams dangerous social media reel involving children

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar came down heavily on a woman for making a dangerous social media reel involving her minor children. He warned that such acts in the name of online popularity put young lives at grave risk.

The controversy erupted after a reel surfaced on social media showing a woman placing her children on the edge of a well while dancing. In another disturbing visual, she appeared to lower the children towards the well. As the video went viral, netizens expressed strong outrage and flagged the content as reckless.

Sharing the video on X, Sajjanar criticised the woman’s behaviour. He said placing children on the edge of a well for reels was not bravery but foolishness. He described the act as resembling suicide and questioned where society was heading.

Sajjanar warns against social media stunts risking children’s lives

Sajjanar said parents must protect children, not expose them to danger. He noted that watching elders place children on the brink of death was deeply disturbing. Moreover, he cautioned people not to turn social media obsession into a threat to life.

He also urged users not to encourage or promote such dangerous acts online. According to him, reckless stunts for views could lead to irreversible tragedies. Therefore, he appealed for responsibility and restraint while using social media platforms.
