RS Praveen Kumar denies party switch rumours, warns of legal action

Hyderabad: BRS leader and former IPS officer R S Praveen Kumar on Friday rejected rumours of switching political parties and warned of legal action against those spreading false reports.

In a post on social media, Praveen Kumar said fake news was circulating about him joining another party. He claimed the ruling Congress had triggered the rumours to divert public attention.

According to him, public anger against the Congress had begun to surface across Telangana. Therefore, he alleged, the party resorted to what he described as an attention diversion strategy.

Praveen Kumar reiterates stand with BRS

Meanwhile, Praveen Kumar said he joined the BRS after careful thought. He added that the future of all sections in Telangana remained secure with the party.

He clarified that his stand did not change even when the BRS was out of power. Moreover, he said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy failed to influence his decision despite making offers in the past.

Praveen Kumar said he stood firmly with the BRS under the leadership of K Chandrashekar Rao, who led the Telangana statehood movement. He added that there was no question of stepping back from the struggle.

Further, he alleged that Telangana had already suffered due to wrong decisions. He warned that continued mistakes could damage future generations.

Finally, Praveen Kumar cautioned that he would initiate legal action if the fake news campaign continued.
