CM Revanth Reddy delivering welfare despite BRS debt trap: Jupally

Hyderabad: Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Thursday said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is delivering major welfare initiatives despite the financial burden left behind by the previous BRS government.

Revanth Reddy welfare BRS debt fight continues, says minister

Addressing the public after the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for ₹260.45 crore worth of works in Adilabad, Jupally said Telangana had become a “rich state drowned in debt” under former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao.

“We are paying monthly interest on ₹8 lakh crore in loans left by the BRS government,” he stated.

Despite this burden, he noted that the Congress government has rolled out several flagship programmes. These include land acquisition for the proposed Adilabad airport and the recruitment of 61,000 government posts. He added that 40,000 more posts will be filled soon.

Congress revives stalled projects, launches welfare schemes

Jupally criticised the BRS for failing to complete the Chanaka-Korata barrage or offer compensation to farmers. In contrast, he said the Congress government is actively clearing pending crop-loss claims.

He also listed current welfare measures being implemented: 200 units of free electricity, subsidised gas cylinders, new ration cards, fine rice distribution, free RTC travel for women, Indiramma housing, and a ₹21,000 crore farm loan waiver.

Adilabad to be developed as tourism hub under new vision

The minister called Adilabad a “Mini Kashmir” and said it would be developed as a major tourist destination under the Telangana Rising–2047 Vision Document. He also highlighted the launch of the Young India Residential School initiative for Adilabad’s youth.
