Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said his goal was to ensure that Kodangal lands received water from the Krishna river.
During his visit to Kodangal on Friday, the Chief Minister launched and inaugurated several development works in the constituency.
He also performed the foundation ceremony for the construction of a Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple estimated to cost nearly Rs.110 crore.
Ministers Damodar Rajanarasimha and Vakiti Srihari attended the programme.
Kodangal Krishna water project remains government priority
Speaking at the event, Revanth Reddy said the government would develop the Kodangal temple into a major spiritual centre comparable to Tirupati for poor devotees.
He stated that Kodangal constituency had never received a ministerial post in the past. As a result, local leaders previously depended on others for resolving public issues.
However, the Chief Minister said the constituency now had direct representation because he was serving as both Kodangal MLA and Chief Minister.
Revanth Reddy assured people that the constituency would witness development in all sectors. He urged residents to observe the ongoing changes in the region.
Kodangal Krishna water goal linked to lift irrigation scheme
The Chief Minister said he worked nearly 18 hours every day, yet several public issues still required solutions.
He added that the government introduced several welfare schemes for the benefit of poor families across the state.
Revanth Reddy also announced that land acquisition for the Kodangal-Narayanpet lift irrigation scheme had been completed. Moreover, he clarified that there was no shortage of funds for the project.
He instructed Minister Vakiti Srihari to closely monitor the execution of the works to ensure faster completion.
The Chief Minister further stated that works related to the Vikarabad-Krishna railway line would begin soon.
