Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid floral tribute to public poet and Padma Vibhushan awardee Kaloji Narayana Rao on his birth anniversary. MP Anil Kumar Yadav also joined the Chief Minister during the tribute.
The Chief Minister said Telangana Language Day, observed on Kaloji’s birth anniversary, held special significance for the people of the state. He recalled the poet’s contribution to highlighting the distinct character and sharpness of Telangana’s language and dialect through his writings.
Kaloji reflected people’s problems and aspirations through the language they spoke. He turned his writing into an instrument of social awareness, the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister also recalled Kaloji’s efforts to question injustice and his contribution to democratic values, social justice and human rights. He described those efforts as memorable.
Revanth Reddy stresses the cultural value of Telangana language
Revanth Reddy said Telangana language represented more than a way of speaking. He described it as a symbol of the state’s culture, way of life and self-respect.
The Chief Minister credited Kaloji with giving literary recognition to Telangana’s language and dialect. His writings brought the region’s linguistic character and people’s voice into literature.
He called for greater efforts to protect the richness of Telangana language. Furthermore, he urged people to strengthen respect for the language and preserve its cultural identity.
The Chief Minister also called for Kaloji’s spirit of public awareness and his ideas to reach the present generation. He paid rich tributes to the poet and extended Telangana Language Day greetings to the people.
