CM Revanth Reddy assures universal housing policy for journalists

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the Telangana government would implement a universal journalists housing policy to ensure justice for all working journalists in the state.

He made the remarks on Thursday at the Ground Floor lobby of the State Secretariat while replying to questions on housing plot allocations for journalists.

Revanth Reddy clarified that the journalists housing policy would cover all eligible journalists and not remain limited to specific societies or groups.

Moreover, he assured journalists that the government was working on a fair and transparent system for allotment of house sites.

“I will personally look into how house sites should be allotted to journalists. Leave it to me,” the Chief Minister said.

Journalists housing policy to cover all eligible journalists

Meanwhile, journalists asked the Chief Minister about those who were not members of housing societies.

In response, Revanth Reddy said the government would not allot plots society-wise under the journalists housing policy.

Instead, the government planned to allot house sites individually to eligible journalists across Telangana.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister reiterated that the government aimed to ensure equal treatment for all journalists.

The Chief Minister’s remarks assumed significance amid ongoing discussions within the media fraternity over housing benefits and eligibility norms.

At the same time, journalists continued seeking clarity on allotment procedures and inclusion of non-society members under the proposed journalists housing policy.
