Hyderabad: BJP Telangana president Ramchander Rao challenged Congress over its vote theft allegations against the Election Commission. He questioned how Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy won elections if vote theft had taken place.
Speaking to the media, Rao referred to a mock Parliament session held at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence. He said Congress had accused the Election Commission of manipulating elections during the event.
Rao also questioned Congress’s criticism of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. If SIR affected election results, he asked, how did Congress win in Kerala? He accused the party of repeatedly making false claims.
Vote theft allegations trigger BJP’s Amit Shah outreach
Rao said Union Home Minister Amit Shah would visit Hyderabad to explain the BJP’s position on Congress’s allegations. He argued that losing public faith in constitutional institutions could create disorder across the country.
He also criticised Congress for questioning the credibility of constitutional bodies. According to Rao, Amit Shah’s visit would help explain the facts to the public.
Rao expected more than one lakh people to attend Amit Shah’s proposed padayatra. He appealed to people to participate in the rally voluntarily.
He said Hyderabad would provide a platform for Shah to respond to Congress’s vote theft allegations. Rao also expressed confidence that the BJP would form the next government in Telangana.
