Special CS reviews new High Court building works in Rajendranagar

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj inspected the construction works of the new High Court building at Rajendranagar on Wednesday, acting on directions from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

During the site visit, R&B Chief Engineers Rajeshwar Reddy and Lingareddy, along with field engineers, consultants, and contractor representatives, accompanied the Special Chief Secretary. Meanwhile, he reviewed work progress and issued instructions to all agencies involved.

Recalling earlier directions, Vikas Raj said the Chief Minister and the R&B Minister wanted the new High Court building to emerge as a state icon. Accordingly, officials planned the ₹2,583-crore project over 36.52 lakh square feet.

New High Court building to follow strict timelines

To prevent delays, the Special Chief Secretary directed consultants to submit drawing schedules in advance. This way, contractors can plan manpower, machinery, and materials on time. He also instructed the agency to finish works within the agreed deadline.

Further, he advised departmental officers to hold regular review meetings with consultants and contractors. At the same time, consultants were asked to prepare revised plans as per judicial officers’ suggestions and secure approvals.

Separately, Vikas Raj directed the Chief Engineer to fast-track forest clearances related to Zone 2. As a result, officials expect steady progress on the new High Court building without disruption.
