Hyderabad: A moving car caught fire and was completely gutted on the Outer Ring Road near the Rajendranagar Police Academy on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Tuesday, causing a brief traffic disruption.
Police said Nithin was driving from Tukkuguda towards Narsingi when the incident occurred. As he reached the Manchirevula stretch, he suddenly felt intense heat near his feet, close to the driver’s seat. Sensing danger, he immediately pulled the car to the roadside and stepped out.
Within moments, flames erupted from the underside of the vehicle. The fire spread rapidly and engulfed the car, reducing it to ashes within a short time.

Meanwhile, fire department personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information and quickly brought the blaze under control. Due to the incident, traffic movement on the Outer Ring Road slowed briefly before authorities cleared the stretch.
Fortunately, Nithin escaped without injuries because he exited the vehicle in time. Police said they were yet to determine the exact cause of the fire and were continuing inquiries.
