Telangana HC to rule on Group-1 selection list on January 22

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court will deliver its verdict on the Telangana Group-1 selection list on January 22, following months of legal proceedings over alleged irregularities in the published rankings.

Several candidates approached the High Court after the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) released the general rankings and marks list based on the results declared on March 10. Petitioners claimed discrepancies and irregularities in the list, prompting judicial scrutiny.

A single-judge bench initially set aside the selection list, ruling in favour of the petitioners. However, TSPSC challenged the decision, leading to a stay order from a division bench.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the division bench reserved its judgment. The final ruling is now scheduled for January 22.

TSPSC challenged order annulling Telangana Group-1 selection list

The controversy began after the TSPSC’s March 10 results led to the announcement of a general rankings list. Allegations of procedural lapses triggered petitions in the High Court. The single bench’s order to cancel the list was met with resistance from the Commission, which maintained the process was fair.

As the division bench prepares to pronounce its verdict, the outcome will have significant implications for the ongoing recruitment process
