Extensive arrangements underway for President and Vice-President’s Hyderabad visit

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao has asked all departments to make detailed arrangements for the President and Vice-President Hyderabad visit scheduled this month.

VP Radhakrishnan’s itinerary on November 16

During a review meeting at the state Secretariat, Rao confirmed that Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan will arrive on November 16. His visit includes a brief stop at Raj Bhavan, participation in the Governor’s High Tea, and a programme at Ramoji Film City. He will return to New Delhi the same night, departing from Shamshabad Airport at 8 pm.

President Murmu’s visit from November 21

President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad on November 21. She will stay at Raj Bhavan and attend the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsavam at Rashtrapati Nilayam as the Chief Guest. The President will leave for Puttaparthi on the morning of November 22.

Departments instructed to coordinate seamlessly

Rao instructed officials to appoint nodal officers for each department and complete all tasks according to VVIP protocol. He specifically directed the police department to prepare security, traffic, and crowd-control plans under the Blue Book guidelines. He also assigned responsibilities to departments such as GAD, Fire Services, Roads & Buildings, Medical, Municipal, Energy, BSNL, and Horticulture.

Security measures and on-site supervision

He stressed that department heads must supervise arrangements on the ground, especially in light of the current security scenario. Event organisers for the Ramoji Film City programme were told to work closely with the Vice-President’s Office and Telangana officials. District Collectors from Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal will oversee local logistics.

Dress rehearsals and coordination at Raj Bhavan

The Chief Secretary instructed Raj Bhavan’s Joint Secretary to ensure complete readiness at the venue. Military and airport authorities were asked to take necessary precautions. Advance Security Liaison (ASL) meetings and full dress rehearsals will take place a day before each visit.

Officials present at the meeting included DGP Shivdhar Reddy, Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal, Political Secretary Raghunandan Rao, Additional DGPs Vijay Kumar and Mahesh Bhagwat, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, DG Fire Services Vikram Singh Mann, Special Commissioner (I&PR) Ch. Priyanka, and the Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal.
