HYDERABAD: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party of deliberately instigating protests during ongoing Gram Sabhas. He asserted that these demonstrations are artificially orchestrated by BRS to create unrest.
The Minister clarified that the current Gram Sabhas are not related to the upcoming local body elections, countering claims that the government is conducting these meetings solely for electoral purposes. He emphasized that the government is committed to providing ration cards and Indiramma houses to all eligible beneficiaries. However, he noted that distributing Indiramma houses to everyone in a single year is not feasible; instead, they will be allocated in phases. Prabhakar criticised BRS for acting irresponsibly by staging artificial protests, despite the government’s efforts to benefit all eligible individuals.
Prabhakar assured that schemes will be implemented for beneficiaries regardless of existing lists, and that the application and verification processes are continuous.
