Hyderabad: Former Telangana minister and BRS leader G Jagadish Reddy ruled out any possibility of a BRS BJP merger, calling BJP a party alien to Telangana’s interests and dismissing CM Ramesh’s remarks as irrelevant. “Even if it costs our lives, there will be no alliance with BJP,” Jagadish Reddy said at a press briefing held at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday.
He said BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao had already clarified during the Lok Sabha polls that there would be no tie-up with BJP “even at the cost of life.” That position, he said, remains unchanged. Jagadish Reddy dismissed CM Ramesh as a “broker” and advised people not to take his comments seriously.
Jagadish Reddy claimed BJP’s ideology was incompatible with that of the BRS, quoting KCR to underline the ideological divide. He said leaders like Ramesh should be ignored regardless of their stature. He likened the situation to former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, who he said promoted such intermediaries.
Responding to criticism about visiting CM Ramesh’s home, Reddy said both he and KTR had gone as friends and questioned what was wrong with that. He alleged Ramesh was staying at Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s official residence on Tughlaq Road in Delhi. “Shall we pull out the CCTV footage?” he asked, adding that Ramesh had spent more time in Naidu and Revanth’s houses than anywhere else.
Jagadish Reddy claimed Ramesh told him he joined BJP under pressure and continued to serve Naidu’s interests. He questioned how the party could be merged into BJP just because Kavitha faces legal issues. “The court will decide on bail, not the BJP,” he said, defending KTR’s recent statements and accusing a BJP MP of interfering in the Gachibowli land issue.

He alleged the BJP, TDP, and Revanth Reddy were staging political theatre in coordination. KCR, he said, stood for Telangana’s self-respect and would be crucial in shaping the country’s future government. “You may celebrate for four days,” Reddy said, “but BRS will not merge with BJP.”
He also raised caste politics, accusing Revanth Reddy of caste-based bias and calling him a disciple of “Kulagajja.” He challenged CM Ramesh’s claim of having no stake in the controversial Ritwik company, asking whether he would stand by his words.
Accusing Ramesh of reading from a script prepared in Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy’s offices, Jagadish Reddy questioned how a BJP-TDP alliance would make room for BRS. “He has no real position in the BJP,” he said, “They will keep him wherever they want.”
