Nizamabad wall collapse kills labourer during demolition work

Hyderabad: A labourer from Bodhan died in a Nizamabad wall collapse while carrying out demolition work at a house in Vinayak Nagar on Thursday. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Fourth Town Police Station in Nizamabad city.

The labourer had travelled from Bodhan after securing daily-wage work to demolish a wall built on top of a house. During the demolition, the wall accidentally collapsed on him. He suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.

Police received information about the incident and reached the location soon afterwards. Fourth Town Station House Officer Satish inspected the site where the Nizamabad wall collapse occurred.

Police subsequently shifted the labourer’s body to the Government General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Sub-Inspector Sayanna registered a case in connection with the incident.

Police also began an investigation to establish the circumstances that led to the wall collapsing during the demolition work. The available information did not disclose the identity or age of the deceased worker.

However, police confirmed that he had come from Bodhan to Nizamabad for daily-wage labour. The fatal accident occurred while he was demolishing the wall at the Vinayak Nagar property. Further details were expected to emerge during the police investigation.
