Hyderabad: Congress leaders met in Nizamabad to chart their strategy for the upcoming municipal elections. The Nizamabad Congress review stressed unity, people-first messaging, and survey-based ticket selection.
TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud opened the session by calling for discipline. “The Congress flag must fly high in Nizamabad. Discipline is our strength,” he said. He accused the BJP of spreading communal divisions to cover up its failures in development.
Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, overseeing the civic polls, confirmed that candidate selection will rely only on voter surveys. “Group politics and lobbying won’t work. Those with strong public backing will get the tickets,” he said. He advised aspirants to build trust by campaigning in their wards.

Later, Mohammed Ali Shabbir announced plans to assign ward-level in-charges for better coordination. He assured fair representation for BCs and women in the candidate list. Moreover, he urged workers to highlight the Congress government’s welfare schemes during voter outreach.
Mahesh Kumar Goud added, “We brought back Indiramma Rajyam. Now let’s build Indiramma municipalities.” He encouraged workers to convert public support into votes through both offline and online engagement.
To support this vision, leaders also promised faster release of development funds. “Nizamabad will look transformed by election time,” said Uttam Kumar Reddy. He called on party workers to unite and reject the divisive tactics of BJP and BRS.
MLA Sudarshan Reddy echoed this call for unity. “We can win if we stay together,” he said. He asked workers to use social media and door-to-door campaigns to explain the government’s performance to voters.
Local leaders, town presidents, and party workers participated in large numbers, signalling strong grassroots mobilisation.
