New Year tragedy: Youth dies after car hits tree in Kamareddy

Hyderabad: A Kamareddy road accident cast a shadow over New Year celebrations after a car crashed into a tree, killing a 30-year-old man on the spot in Kamareddy district early Thursday morning.

The accident occurred in Kamareddy town when the victim was returning home during the early hours. Police identified the deceased as Gopu Naresh, a resident of Reddipet village in Ramareddy mandal.

According to police, Naresh had been living in Kamareddy town, though he worked in Hyderabad for employment. He had visited Kamareddy to celebrate New Year with family members.

Kamareddy road accident occurred near Collectorate area

Police said Naresh was driving alone from Gumasta Colony towards his residence. When he reached Jayshankar Colony near the Collectorate, he lost control of the car, which rammed into a roadside tree.

The impact killed him instantly, police said. No other occupants were present in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Locals told police that Naresh had complained about steering issues in the car over the past few days. Although he had repaired the steering system two months ago, it reportedly continued to malfunction.

Police suspect that the steering may have jammed suddenly, causing the driver to lose control. However, officials said they would confirm the exact cause only after a detailed investigation.

Police shifted the body to the district hospital for post-mortem examination. They registered a case and began further investigation into the accident.
