Narsingi police arrest man in Alkapur Township molestation case

Hyderabad: Narsingi police arrested a man in the Alkapur Township molestation case reported within the limits of Narsingi Police Station earlier this month.

Police identified the accused as Vadde Nagaraju, 26, son of Anjaneyulu. He currently resides at Puppalguda in Gandipet mandal and belongs to Chakalipally village in Nawabpet mandal of Mahabubnagar district.

According to police, the victim submitted a complaint on May 19. She stated that the incident took place on May 14 at around 1.30 am near Alkapur Township.

The complainant told police that she was returning after picking up her two-and-a-half-year-old child from a nearby play school. During that time, an unidentified person allegedly followed her from the main road and behaved indecently by pulling her dress from behind.

When the victim raised an alarm, the accused fled from the spot. Subsequently, police registered a case under Sections 78 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Alkapur Township molestation case investigated through CCTV footage

Meanwhile, CCTV footage related to the incident went viral on social media platforms. Following this, Narsingi police formed special teams to identify and trace the accused.

During the investigation, police tracked and apprehended Vadde Nagaraju. Officials later verified his background and found no previous criminal record or involvement in similar offences.

Harikrishna Reddy, SHO of Narsingi Police Station, confirmed the arrest and said police completed the investigation after sustained efforts.
