Hyderabad: Mutyam Dhara tourists from Hyderabad were fined Rs. 10,000 after secretly entering the prohibited waterfall area. Forest officials stopped the seven tourists in Venkatapuram mandal.
An altercation reportedly broke out between the tourists and forest officials during the intervention. Officials had stopped the group after finding them at the banned Mutyam Dhara waterfall.
During the incident, one tourist, identified as Zaheera Khan, reportedly fell ill while the group was being taken back. Authorities then took the tourist to a hospital for medical attention.
The situation reportedly led to another argument at the hospital. Later, authorities took all seven tourists to the police station for further action.
At the police station, officials counselled the tourists about the restrictions in place. The authorities also imposed a Rs. 10,000 fine on the group for entering the prohibited area.
Forest officials subsequently warned tourists against visiting restricted waterfalls and other dangerous locations. They urged visitors to follow the rules and avoid entering areas closed for public safety.
