Congress MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy has demanded a CBI probe into the suspicious death of Tollywood producer Kedar in Dubai. He alleged illegal financial dealings and drug links, urging strict action against hawala networks.
HYDERABAD: Congress MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the suspicious death of Tollywood producer Kedar in Dubai. He raised concerns over alleged illegal financial transactions and drug links, urging authorities to take strict action against those involved.
Srinivas Reddy emphasised that Kedar’s sudden demise has led to numerous doubts, and a transparent investigation is necessary. He stated that individuals linked to Kedar in past drug-related cases must be identified and held accountable.
The MLA alleged that illicit wealth from Telangana, worth thousands of crores, has been transferred to Dubai through undisclosed channels. He questioned why state and central investigative agencies have not taken action despite clear signs of financial irregularities.
“People need to know who has been moving black money to Dubai. What are the investigation agencies doing while illegal funds are being siphoned off?” Srinivas Reddy asked.
He also pointed out that while the government has been in power for 14 months, no significant action has been taken against hawala operators. He warned that failure to curb such activities could have severe long-term consequences.
Concerns Over Drug Rackets in the Film Industry
Srinivas Reddy claimed that several film personalities have been involved in drug-related activities. He alleged that celebrities are investing abroad under the guise of brand endorsements, only to be deceived by fraudsters. He urged the government to take firm action against drug rackets operating within the entertainment industry. He stressed that identifying and exposing those involved is crucial for preventing similar incidents in the future.
The MLA also made an appeal to the film industry, urging celebrities to contribute to Telangana’s development. He suggested that a portion of their wealth, which is often invested abroad, should be allocated to the state’s educational funds to support the future of Telangana’s youth.
“Telangana’s government is focusing on improving education. It is only fair that film personalities, who earn massive amounts, dedicate some of their wealth to the state’s educational progress,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made strong remarks on Wednesday, suggesting that only BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has knowledge about the circumstances surrounding Kedar’s death. His statement has fueled further controversy, with calls for a deeper investigation gaining momentum.
