Mir Alam Cheruvu development works reviewed by CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reviewed the Mir Alam Cheruvu development works and directed officials to complete the ongoing projects within the stipulated deadline.

The Chief Minister inspected the suspension bridge under construction across the lake and examined the progress of related development works. Officials briefed him about the projects through a photographic presentation.

Revanth Reddy also personally inspected the works from atop a high-rise crane. From there, he reviewed the progress of development activities around the lake. He instructed officials to ensure that the projects remained on schedule and avoided delays.

Mir Alam Cheruvu development to include sewage control

Revanth Reddy directed officials to prevent sewage water from entering Mir Alam Cheruvu. He also asked them to expand the nala carrying floodwater from the lake towards the Musi River.

The expansion should facilitate the smooth discharge of floodwater from the lake into the Musi, he said. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister sought plans to broaden the recreational potential of the lake.

He directed officials to prepare designs for introducing water sports at Mir Alam Cheruvu. The islands located within the lake should also be developed as part of the overall project, he said. These works were to be integrated with the broader Mir Alam Cheruvu development plan.

Tourism facilities planned around Mir Alam Cheruvu

Revanth Reddy asked officials to focus on attracting tourists while developing the lake and its surrounding areas. He noted that Mir Alam Cheruvu was located close to the airport. Therefore, the development should take advantage of its location to attract visitors.

The Chief Minister directed officials to create suitable tourism facilities around the lake. He also sought coordinated development of the suspension bridge, islands, water sports and other facilities.

During the inspection, officials explained the progress of the suspension bridge and associated projects to the Chief Minister. Revanth Reddy subsequently examined the ongoing works from the elevated crane to get a wider view of the project area.

The Mir Alam Cheruvu development plan was also expected to address sewage inflows and improve the lake’s floodwater outlet towards the Musi. The Chief Minister stressed that all works should be completed within their prescribed timelines.
