Hyderabad, January 6: Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu criticised the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government’s decade-long rule, claiming it left the state’s economy in disarray.
Speaking to the media in Maidambanda village of Mutharam Mandal, the minister said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is working to bring the state’s economy back on track.
“Despite delays, we are steadily implementing the promises made during elections, including the six guarantees,” Sridhar Babu stated. He emphasised that the Congress government is committed to development and welfare, with a particular focus on farmers.
The minister highlighted that the government has introduced an unprecedented farm loan waiver scheme, providing relief up to Rs 2 lakh per farmer at a cost of Rs 21,000 crore. Additionally, he mentioned that Rs 500 is being paid per quintal of paddy, and efforts are underway to provide Rs 12,000 annually in two instalments for cultivable land.
Sridhar Babu accused the BJP and BRS of misleading farmers with false promises and propaganda. He also criticised the previous administration for failing to issue a single ration card in ten years. He assured that the Congress government would soon distribute new ration cards and Indiramma houses to eligible beneficiaries.
He also announced that Rs 60 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the Manthani-Mutharam road, a key infrastructure project.
Later, the minister visited bereaved families in Mutharam and Ramagiri Mandals to offer his condolences. He was accompanied by Congress leaders, including district vice president Choppiri Nadananandam, Mandal president Dodda Balaji, and others.
Sridhar Babu stated that opposition parties are unable to accept the Congress-led government’s focus on development and welfare, resorting instead to baseless criticism.
