Minister Vakiti Srihari promises full housing bill payment to Indiramma beneficiaries

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Sports, Youth, Fisheries and Dairy Development Vakiti Srihari on Friday assured beneficiaries of the Indiramma housing scheme that the government will clear all housing bills without exception. He said he was even prepared to sell his own house if required to ensure payments were made.

He was speaking at a private function hall in Makthal where land patta certificates were distributed to Indira Mahila beneficiaries under the supervision of local town president Ravi Kumar.

Srihari urged all sanctioned beneficiaries to begin construction without delay. He said 300 houses had already been approved in Makthal and added that he had spoken to the District Collector about releasing another 300 once the current batch is completed.

He accused the previous administration of using the double-bedroom housing promise to win elections but failing to provide a single house to eligible applicants. He said that within just 18 months, the Congress government had begun issuing Indiramma housing proceedings to genuine beneficiaries.

The minister said the current government had backed its words with action, unlike its predecessor. He claimed the administration had already waived loans worth crores for farmers and credited Rythu Bharosa assistance directly to cultivators.

District Collector Sikta Patnaik, who was present at the event, said beneficiaries who begin construction would receive housing bill payments in instalments, directly to their accounts.

Housing PD Shankar, local MPDO, the municipal commissioner, party workers and local leaders were also present.
