Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar launched a free deworming programme for sheep and goats at Totapalli village in Husnabad mandal and also reviewed development works across the constituency as part of the Husnabad development strategy.
During the programme, the minister said the initiative aimed to protect livestock health and strengthen rural livelihoods. Therefore, he stressed the importance of preventive veterinary care for farmers.
Later, Prabhakar interacted with students at the Totapalli primary school. He assured them that authorities would construct a new school building in place of the old one. In addition, he announced the sanction of a VIVO building to improve facilities, which is crucial in detailed Husnabad development review processes.
The minister said officials held two-day review meetings from mandal to field level. These meetings involved departments handling education, health, agriculture, roads, electricity, irrigation, and rural infrastructure. Meanwhile, officials collected inputs directly from villages for the Husnabad development initiative.
Husnabad development review focuses on housing and basic services
Prabhakar said officials discussed field-level issues with senior officers to ensure timely solutions. Therefore, he stressed that services must reach rural areas in a transparent manner.
He directed health officials to ensure primary health centres and sub-centres function efficiently. At the same time, he raised staff shortage issues with education department officials, an important aspect of reviewing Husnabad development challenges.
On agriculture, the minister said authorities held meetings covering 43 Rythu Vedikas with mandal agriculture officers. Moreover, officials discussed fish stocking in irrigation tanks, irrigation water availability, and related concerns.
He said education officials reviewed school infrastructure through MEOs. Similarly, power department officers examined electricity supply issues, including hanging cables, highlighting Husnabad development needs. Subsequently, the reports will contribute to a comprehensive Husnabad development review.
At the village level, officials held meetings with village secretaries, village officers, ASHA workers, anganwadi workers, and headmasters. Based on this, they prepared detailed reports.
On drinking water and roads, Prabhakar instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted Mission Bhagiratha supply and smooth connectivity. He noted that the previous government failed to construct even 250 double-bedroom houses in the constituency over ten years.
However, the present government sanctioned 3,500 Indiramma houses in Husnabad this year. He urged beneficiaries to begin construction without delay. As a result, bills would be cleared within a week after completion, contributing positively to comprehensive Husnabad development reviews. He added that authorities would sanction more houses in phases.
Prabhakar said he requested the Chief Minister to extend special schemes for veterinary services and dairy development in rural Husnabad. Additionally, he said R&B and Panchayat Raj roads were nearing completion.
He said authorities were carrying out development works at Sarvai Papanna Fort, Mahasamudram Gandi Yellamma Cheruvu, and Kotha Cheruvu. Finally, the minister said newly elected representatives collected village-level feedback and would consider it vital for the Husnabad development review.
