Preparations in full swing for Mega Job Mela in Huzurnagar on October 25: Uttam Kumar Reddy

Hyderabad: Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that final preparations were in full swing for the Mega Job Mela Huzurnagar on October 25. The event aims to create thousands of employment opportunities for rural youth across Telangana.

Over 12,500 youth registered and 250 firms to participate

Speaking to the media after a review meeting at the Suryapet District Collectorate on Wednesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the fair formed part of the government’s drive to tackle unemployment. He added that job creation remained one of the core promises of the Congress government.

So far, more than 12,500 youth have registered for the event. In addition, over 250 companies, including both national and international firms, confirmed participation. Recruiters will hire candidates from Class 10 onwards in industries such as textiles, manufacturing, and IT services.

Efforts to mobilise rural candidates

To ensure maximum participation, the minister held a video conference with village secretaries and Village Police Officers (VPOs). He also met heads of educational institutions from the erstwhile Nalgonda district. During the interaction, he urged them to raise awareness and encourage students to attend the job fair.

He stressed that the event would mainly benefit SC, ST, BC, and Minority youth who face barriers in job markets. Many rural candidates struggle because of limited English fluency or exposure. Therefore, the fair aims to bridge the gap between rural and urban job seekers.

Telangana’s largest recruitment drive begins

The Mega Job Mela Huzurnagar, organised with the Digital Employment Exchange of Telangana (DEET) and Singareni Collieries, will be the largest employment initiative ever held in the region. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the event marks the beginning of a long-term employment strategy under the Congress government.

To manage the large turnout, the district administration arranged free breakfast, lunch, and snacks for all participants. Moreover, offline registration will be available at the venue for those unable to register online. The minister advised every candidate to bring five copies of their bio-data and one passport-size photograph.

‘This is a movement for rural employment’

“I have seen how unemployment burdens families,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said. “This fair is being organised with commitment and care. It is not merely a programme, but a movement for rural employment.”

District Collector Tejas Nandlal Pawar, SP Narasimha, Joint Collector Seetharam Rao, Market Committee Chairman Koppula Venu Reddy, and DCC President Ch. Venkanna Yadav attended the planning sessions.

The minister called on youth to seize this opportunity and build their future through meaningful employment and skill-based placements.
