Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy inaugurated the newly constructed Marriguda Junction flyover in Nalgonda. The project marked another major infrastructure addition for the town and the surrounding region.
The flyover stood at Marriguda Junction on the Narketpally-Addanki-Medarametla highway. The junction regularly handled heavy traffic from Nalgonda and vehicles travelling along the highway.
Therefore, officials expected the new structure to reduce congestion at the busy intersection. It would also help thousands of motorists who used the road every day.
The government said the flyover would allow vehicles to cross the junction faster. Moreover, the project aimed to improve safety at a location known for heavy vehicular movement.
Marriguda Junction flyover aims to improve road safety
The Marriguda Junction flyover would separate through traffic from vehicles using local roads around the junction. As a result, motorists could avoid delays caused by traffic merging at the intersection.
The project also aimed to reduce the risk of road accidents at Marriguda Junction. In addition, it would provide a safer and quicker route for residents and long-distance travellers.
The government presented the project as part of its wider focus on infrastructure development. It said better road connectivity would strengthen the transport network across the Nalgonda region.
Meanwhile, improved traffic movement could support local commercial activity by reducing travel delays. The new flyover would also improve access for vehicles moving between Narketpally, Addanki and Medarametla.
Officials said the Marriguda Junction flyover would contribute to Nalgonda’s economic and commercial growth. They linked the project to the government’s efforts to strengthen regional road infrastructure.
Local residents and regular commuters welcomed the opening of the flyover. They expected it to ease traffic problems and improve daily travel through the junction.
The Minister formally opened the bridge and made it available for public use. Consequently, motorists could begin using the new facility immediately.
