Hyderabad: TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud accused BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) of shedding crocodile tears. Speaking at a booth-level preparatory meeting at Rahmat Nagar in Jubilee Hills on Thursday, he said the BRS era had ended. Moreover, he expressed confidence that the Jubilee Hills seat would fall into the Congress fold.
He said the party had chosen Naveen Yadav as the by-election candidate based on public opinion. “People have not forgotten your ten years of destructive rule, KTR,” Mahesh Goud said. He added that no one had imagined free travel for women in RTC buses or the distribution of 40 lakh ration cards providing fine rice. Therefore, he said, Naveen Yadav was selected as a candidate who stands by the people in tough times.
Mahesh Kumar Goud says the BRS era is over, Jubilee Hills will go to Congress
The TPCC chief further said that the BRS had lost its relevance and that people now sought development, not sentiment. “Was it not KTR who introduced the drug culture?” he asked, reminding the crowd that youth had suffered because of bad habits spread during the BRS regime.
He emphasised that Congress always stands by its promises. Hence, for Jubilee Hills to develop in every respect, Naveen Yadav must win with a big majority. In addition, he said the Congress government focuses on women’s welfare and urged voters to help secure Naveen Yadav’s victory.
Finally, Mahesh Goud asserted that a Congress win in Jubilee Hills was certain. He appealed to every voter to come out and exercise their right.
AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Vivek Venkataswamy, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, corporator C.N. Reddy, former MP Azharuddin, and several local leaders also attended the meeting.
