Hyderabad: Mahabubabad ACB trap led to the arrest of a government school headmaster and a school assistant who accepted a Rs 15,000 bribe to process pension-related documents, officials said on Wednesday.
Officials identified the accused as J. Ravi Kumar, headmaster of ZPHS Ayodhyapuram and Mandal Education Officer of Gudur, and G. Chandra Mouli, school assistant and in-charge clerk. The ACB Warangal unit trapped them at ZPHS, Gudur while they received the money from a complainant.

According to officials, the two demanded the bribe to process Contributory Pension Scheme retirement benefit bills and forward them to the Accountant General’s office. The payment was linked to mandatory administrative clearance for pension disbursal.
Following the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and caught the accused during the transaction. They then recovered the tainted cash from the second accused at his instance. Officials said the two misused their official positions to secure undue advantage.
Subsequently, officials arrested both accused and will produce them before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal for judicial remand. Meanwhile, investigators continue to examine the case. The complainant’s identity remains confidential for security reasons.
