Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao warned that his legal team would send Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy a notice over allegations linking him to Globarena. He demanded that the Chief Minister withdraw the claims and issue an immediate apology.
KTR said neither he nor his family had any connection with Globarena. He also denied that the company had any association with the BRS. The KTR legal notice warning followed remarks Revanth Reddy made during a rally in Kodangal. KTR later rejected the allegations through a post on X.
He accused the Chief Minister of spreading false information about a sensitive issue for political benefit. He also asked Revanth Reddy to act responsibly while holding the state’s highest executive office.
KTR legal notice threat targets Globarena allegations
During the Kodangal rally, Revanth Reddy alleged that Globarena had acted as a benami company linked to KTR. He referred to irregularities during the 2019 Telangana Intermediate examinations.
The Chief Minister alleged that errors involving the company had led to the deaths of 25 students. He further claimed that the company could not continue its activities after Congress formed the government in 2023. Revanth Reddy also alleged that the company later changed its name. According to him, it approached senior officials at the Centre with KTR’s support.
He further claimed that the same company secured a contract connected with the evaluation of CBSE answer sheets. Revanth Reddy alleged that the firm committed irregularities in that process as well.
The Chief Minister also claimed that the company expanded its activities after reaching an understanding with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. However, KTR rejected every allegation. He said the BRS, his family and he had no links with Globarena.
KTR described the claims as irresponsible and objectionable. He said a Chief Minister should not spread unverified allegations about incidents involving examination irregularities and student deaths.
He demanded that Revanth Reddy withdraw the statements without delay. He also sought a public apology from the Chief Minister. KTR warned that failure to apologise would invite legal action. He said his legal team would soon issue the KTR legal notice to Revanth Reddy.
KTR legal notice follows demand for apology
KTR said he usually avoided responding to what he called vulgar and meaningless allegations from the Chief Minister. However, he clarified that his silence did not mean he accepted those accusations.
He said he preferred not to engage in what he described as political mudslinging. Therefore, he had remained silent on several earlier occasions. Nevertheless, KTR said the latest allegations required a firm response. He maintained that the Chief Minister had crossed a line by linking him to Globarena and examination-related deaths.
The BRS leader reiterated that Revanth Reddy must retract the allegations. Otherwise, he said, the Chief Minister would have to face the KTR legal notice and further legal proceedings.
