KTR attacks Congress over farmer declaration at Warangal meeting

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao accused the Congress party of deceiving farmers in the name of the farmer declaration. He alleged that the party failed to fulfil promises made before the elections.

KTR attended the ‘Rythu Sangrama Sadasu’ organised by the BRS in Warangal on Wednesday. Addressing the gathering, he described Warangal as the land of Kakatiya valour.

He said political struggles launched from the district would shake anti-farmer forces. According to KTR, the meeting aimed to expose the alleged betrayal faced by farmers under the Congress government.

KTR recalled that Congress leaders had announced the farmer declaration at Warangal four years ago. He alleged that the party made several promises before the elections but failed to implement them after coming to power.

Farmer declaration comes under attack at Warangal meeting

The BRS leader questioned what happened to the 34 promises made under the farmer declaration. He alleged that farmers who trusted the Congress and voted for the party were now facing hardships.

KTR criticised the Congress government for failing to implement promises within the promised 100-day period. He described the farmer declaration as a “bogus document”.

The former minister also launched criticism against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during his speech.

KTR alleged that the Congress promised ₹15,000 per acre support after criticising the previous BRS government’s Rythu Bandhu assistance of ₹10,000 per acre.

However, he claimed the government failed to provide full support to farmers. He also criticised Revanth Reddy over his visits to Delhi and questioned their benefits for Telangana farmers.

KTR warned that public anger against Congress leaders could intensify if delays in paddy procurement continued across the state.
