Hyderabad: BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao on Monday led BRS formation day celebrations at Telangana Bhavan and hoisted the party flag, invoking slogans in support of Telangana and party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Party leaders and cadre raised slogans of “Jai KCR” and “Jai Telangana” during the event. KTR said the pink flag symbolised a people who rose after decades of injustice.
He described the party as one built on sacrifices. Moreover, he said only independent political strength could resolve long-standing issues.
Recalling the party’s origins, KTR said KCR raised the flag 25 years ago at Jaladrushyam. He also credited KCR’s 14-year struggle with uniting Telangana society and achieving statehood.
After coming to power, the party governed for a decade and developed all sectors, he said. However, he alleged that Congress rule over the past two-and-a-half years had led to misgovernance.
BRS formation day marked with attack on Congress rule
KTR asserted that BRS alone fought for the oppressed sections against the Congress government. He added that the party had the capacity to discharge any responsibility given by the people.
Referring to the views of Professor K. Jayashankar, he said Telangana needed its own political identity. Therefore, he called for unity to resist both Congress and BJP.
The party must mobilise until KCR returned as Chief Minister in 2028, he said. Meanwhile, he noted that party ranks awaited direction from KCR.
KTR also thanked social media volunteers, party workers, journalists, poets, artists, employees and the public for their support.
