Komatireddy reviews Vision 2047 to boost world-class infrastructure

Hyderabad: Telangana Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday led a detailed review of the State’s long-term infrastructure roadmap, Vision 2047. This initiative aims at building world-class and future-ready transport systems.

Vision 2047 aligns with $3 trillion economy goal

The review took place at the R&B headquarters in Erramanzil, Hyderabad. Minister Vakati Srihari, RDC Chairman Mall Reddy Ram Reddy, Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, R&B ENC Mohan Naik, and NHAI officials including Shiva Shankar were present.

Komatireddy said the Roads and Buildings department has a key role in meeting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s target. The goal is to transform Telangana into a $3 trillion economy. He stressed the need to anticipate traffic trends for the next 5, 10, and 15 years. Creating a detailed action plan based on projected demand is essential.

He noted that constructing one crore square feet of built-up area within two years was a milestone. This achievement reflected the department’s pace under the current administration.

Major projects to transform state connectivity

The Minister listed major initiatives under the Vision 2047 framework. These include HAM model roads, the Regional Ring Road (RRR), radial roads connecting the Outer Ring Road, new expressways, and urban elevated corridors. He said these projects would significantly improve Telangana’s transport infrastructure.

He also urged faster progress on proposals for new airports, high-speed transit corridors, and urban mobility systems. These developments are vital to support economic expansion, industry, and tourism.

Officials were instructed to classify the current road network single lane, double lane, and four-lane. They must also develop upgrade plans tailored to future use cases.

Vision Document to highlight key achievements

Ahead of the Global Summit on December 8–9, Komatireddy directed the department to produce a high-quality video and Vision Document. These should showcase completed works and major upcoming projects. The projects include the Mannanur–Srisailam Elevated Corridor, Bharat Future City–Bandaru Port Greenfield Highway, and the Hyderabad–Vijayawada Expressway.

He said the Vision Document will underline the government’s focus on long-term infrastructure planning. It will emphasize global standards and a forward-looking transport ecosystem.
