Kodangal bandh over shift of educational institutions ahead of CM visit

Hyderabad: The Kodangal bandh erupted ahead of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit as locals opposed the plan to shift key educational institutions from Kodangal to Dudyala. Shops stayed shut across the mandal, and protesters demanded that all sanctioned facilities remain in Kodangal.

The Chief Minister will visit Kodangal today. He will perform bhoomi puja for the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s mid-day meals kitchen at Yenkepally Road. He will also launch development works, distribute welfare benefits and address a public meeting.

Kodangal bandh challenges relocation plan

Members of the Kodangal Development Committee Joint Action Committee led the protest. They said the decision to move the medical college, integrated gurukul schools and the veterinary college broke earlier promises to the region. Protesters argued that the shift hurts local students and slows long-term development.

They demanded that the government set up all approved institutions within Kodangal as originally planned. Business groups backed the bandh and urged the administration to review the relocation.
