Hyderabad: BRS leader Harish Rao urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to postpone the TGPSC AEE exam scheduled for November 6. He cited a clash with the Staff Selection Commission’s Junior Engineer (SSC JE) examination. As a result, thousands of engineering candidates from Telangana could struggle to take both tests. Many risked missing one of the competitive exams they had prepared for.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Harish Rao highlighted the difficulties faced by candidates taking the SSC JE exam in other states. In particular, they would struggle to return to Telangana in time for the Assistant Executive Engineer test. Consequently, the conflicting dates could limit their chances of securing government jobs.
Rao stressed that unemployed youth were not seeking a delay in recruitment. Instead, they wanted the opportunity to take both examinations. Many candidates had spent years preparing for the two tests. However, the schedule could force them to give up one opportunity.
TGPSC AEE exam clash affects candidates travelling from other states
Harish Rao said TGPSC had not acted on repeated requests to change the examination dates. He also referred to a letter sent by Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to the commission on October 14. In that letter, the minister had asked TGPSC to reconsider the schedule.
Furthermore, Rao pointed to Odisha and Bihar, where examination dates had reportedly been changed in similar circumstances. He questioned why Telangana could not take comparable action. Therefore, he urged Revanth Reddy to intervene immediately and postpone the November 6 TGPSC AEE exam for civil engineering candidates.
Finally, the BRS leader called for advance coordination between the state government and TGPSC. Such measures, he said, could prevent similar scheduling conflicts in future examinations. He maintained that candidates should have the chance to sit both tests rather than lose an opportunity because of overlapping dates.
