Hyderabad: Former MP Ravindra Nayak accused former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of spreading misinformation about the State government and warned of public backlash if such actions continued.
Addressing a meeting of the Akhil Bharat Banjara Maha Seva Sangh at NSS in Hyderguda on Sunday, Nayak said the Congress administration was implementing several welfare programmes and criticised KCR for misleading the public.
He questioned the relevance of the internal dispute between KCR’s children, Kavitha and K.T. Rama Rao, to the general public. Nayak also targeted KCR for drawing salary and allowances as Leader of the Opposition while staying absent from Assembly proceedings.
He listed ongoing welfare initiatives under the Congress government, including free electricity up to 200 units, free bus travel for women, loan waivers for Dwakra groups and farmers, supply of fine rice, honoraria for Anganwadi workers, and recruitment for 60,000 posts.
He also praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for approving 42% reservation for Backward Classes, saying it was a step toward upholding their dignity.
Nayak dismissed KCR’s claims of returning to power, citing widespread public distrust after what he called financial mismanagement and administrative disorder under the previous regime.
Leaders Jangaiah and Durgaiah from the Banjara Sangh also took part in the programme.
