Three killed, two critically injured in Karimnagar road accident

Hyderabad: Three electricity department employees died and two others were critically injured in a Karimnagar road accident on Thursday night. Their car hit the rear of a stationary lorry near Tadikal village in Shankarapatnam mandal.

The accident occurred on a national highway while the car was travelling from Nizamabad towards Warangal. According to police and local residents, five Nizamabad district electricity department employees were travelling in the vehicle.

The car crashed into the lorry after reaching the outskirts of Tadikal village. The lorry was stationary beside the road when the collision occurred. The impact completely crushed the front portion of the car, and three occupants died at the scene.

Police identified the deceased as Shekhar, Visweswara Rao and Parshiga. All three worked with the electricity department in Nizamabad district. The other two occupants, Praveen and Murali, suffered serious injuries.

Karimnagar road accident leaves two critically injured

Authorities shifted Praveen and Murali to the Karimnagar Government General Hospital for treatment. Their condition was reported to be critical.

After receiving information about the crash, Huzurabad ACP Madhavi reached the accident site. CI Srinivas and SI Shekhar Reddy also arrived and began relief measures. Police and other personnel shifted the injured to the hospital.

They also moved the bodies of the three deceased to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
