Hyderabad: Reserve Inspector H. Satish died after his firearm accidentally discharged at Nizamabad Police Headquarters on Friday morning. The incident occurred while he was cleaning the weapon after returning from NSO duty.
Police Commissioner Sai Chaitanya said Satish had returned to the headquarters after completing his NSO duty. Satish then began cleaning his weapon when it accidentally went off. He suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.
The Nizamabad gun misfire was reported to senior police officials soon after the incident. Police Commissioner Sai Chaitanya immediately rushed to the headquarters and inspected the scene.

Police subsequently shifted Satish’s body to the Nizamabad District Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination. They also registered a case over the incident.
Police launched a detailed inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Satish’s death. The investigation was underway.
