Jupally credits Revanth Reddy’s leadership for Congress gains in panchayat polls

Hyderabad: Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao on Monday credited Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership for the Congress party’s strong performance in the ongoing panchayat elections, stating that people have reposed trust in the government. The panchayat gains achieved are a testament to this trust.

Speaking at Chinnambavi village in Kollapur Assembly constituency, Jupally said the Congress-led administration has maintained the public’s trust and is steadily fulfilling its promises, resulting in substantial panchayat gains.

He criticized the previous BRS government for mismanaging the state economy, alleging that it left Telangana burdened with heavy debt. This contrasts with the current administration, which focuses on panchayat gains.

Jupally claimed the Congress was leading in the first and second phases of the Gram Panchayat elections in Kollapur. Congress-backed candidates secured 50 seats, including three independents, while BJP and BRS together won 28. Such panchayat gains highlight the effective governance under Congress.

He said people supported Congress candidates because they believed development would be more accessible through ruling party representatives. He also credited the extensive publicity of government schemes for boosting the party’s appeal in rural areas.

The Minister added that the remaining pre-poll promises would soon be implemented.
