HYDERABAD: The Telangana government is preparing for a cabinet expansion, with reports indicating that a list of aspirants has already been submitted to the party high command. In this context, senior Congress leader Kunduru Jana Reddy has appealed to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to ensure representation for legislators from the erstwhile Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts in the forthcoming cabinet reshuffle.
On Tuesday, Jana Reddy addressed a letter to AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, emphasizing the importance of including MLAs from these regions in the state cabinet. He asserted that such inclusion would not only benefit the local populace but also strengthen the Congress party and contribute to the comprehensive development of Telangana.
This appeal follows similar requests from MLAs representing the Madiga, Lambadi, and Backward Classes (BC) communities, who have recently written to the party leadership seeking representation. They have communicated their appeals via email and fax to AICC leaders Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal, and party in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan.
Speculation suggests that the cabinet expansion may occur on April 3, with the current administration under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy having six vacant ministerial positions, of which four are expected to be filled.
