Jagadish Reddy alleges land scam, vows to reclaim lands if BRS returns

Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS senior leader Jagadish Reddy on Thursday accused the Congress-led Telangana government of orchestrating the largest land scam in the country’s history. He alleged that thousands of acres of prime government land were being diverted for personal gain.

Revanth Reddy’s family accused in land transfer

Addressing the media, Reddy claimed that close to 10,000 acres of valuable public land were being readied for transfer at below-market prices. The beneficiaries allegedly included around 40 members of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s extended family. He said more details on the transactions would be disclosed soon.

Reddy specifically targeted the government’s HILT-P (Hyderabad Industrial Land Transfer-Policy). He called it a scheme meant to mislead the people of Telangana. He contrasted inflated acquisition costs such as ₹137 crore per acre for land near the Outer Ring Road with what he described as undervalued sale prices of industrial plots.

“In Balanagar, land worth ₹1.5 lakh per yard is being handed over for just ₹10,000 per yard,” Reddy said. He claimed the move was enriching private parties at the state’s expense.

Industrial land being diverted, BRS leader claims

Reddy further alleged that up to 20,000 acres of industrial land were being reclassified and transferred, subverting their original purpose. He asserted that the BRS, during its tenure, had preserved such land for essential public services like parks and hospitals.

He demanded the government immediately publish a full list of beneficiaries who received land under the current industrial estate allocations.

BRS promises to reclaim ‘looted’ land

Reddy warned that the BRS would take strict action if it returns to power. “Not one of the thieves will be spared,” he said. He vowed to reclaim all land he alleged had been unlawfully transferred. “Every inch of looted land will be recovered and returned to the people,” he declared.
