Hyderabad: HYDRAA carried out a large-scale HYDRAA government land operation across Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts on Saturday. The agency secured 840 acres of government land with an estimated market value of more than ₹30,000 crore.
Revenue authorities from the three districts requested the operation. Accordingly, HYDRAA joined Revenue and Municipal Department officials to fence the identified government lands under police protection and prevent fresh encroachments.
HYDRAA government land operation targets Shamshabad, Rayadurg and Cantonment
HYDRAA focused its biggest operation on 650 acres of government land in Bahadurguda village of Shamshabad mandal in Rangareddy district. The 1954 Khasra Pahani records identify Survey Nos. 25 and 26 as government land.
Officials found several farmhouses on the land. They also found private individuals cultivating portions of the property. Authorities alleged that influential persons had encroached on the land by constructing farmhouses. Meanwhile, Shamshabad revenue officials supervised the fencing work.
In Rayadurg village of Serilingampally mandal, HYDRAA took possession of 84 acres in Survey No. 46 and fenced the land. In addition, officials initiated action against people who allegedly extended a neighbouring half-acre patta land into government property and sold plots in square yards.
HYDRAA government land operation protects public property
HYDRAA fenced another 106 acres of government land in General Land Register (GLR) Nos. 243 and 255 in the Cantonment area, covering parts of Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts.
Officials said illegal mining activities and unauthorised layouts had encroached on the land. They said the encroachments damaged surrounding hills and disrupted the movement of wildlife, including peacocks.
Local residents reported the encroachments to revenue authorities. Consequently, HYDRAA launched the operation to protect government land, prevent further encroachments and preserve the surrounding wildlife habitat.
