Hyderabad: Hyderabad to host world’s first Swiss Mall after Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy held talks with Swiss leaders during the World Economic Forum 2026 annual meeting in Davos.
At Davos, Revanth Reddy discussed expanding Telangana–Switzerland cooperation under the India–Switzerland free trade framework. He met Christelle Luisier Brodard, Chief Minister of the Council of Vaud, to explore economic and cultural partnerships tied to the Hyderabad Swiss Mall proposal.
Officials said Swiss leaders responded positively to the plan. The proposed mall will bring Swiss retail brands, premium products and lifestyle services to Hyderabad.
The discussions also covered cooperation in culture, education, hospitality and sports skills. Both sides agreed that stronger people-to-people ties would support long-term economic engagement.
The Telangana delegation highlighted opportunities for knowledge-sharing in retail systems and life sciences. Swiss representatives expressed a strong interest in women’s empowerment initiatives, especially Self Help Group models.
Hyderabad Swiss Mall proposal moves to the next stage
After the Davos meetings, Industries and Economy Minister Isabelle Moret confirmed that a Swiss delegation would visit Hyderabad soon. Officials said the visit would help advance the Hyderabad Swiss Mall proposal.
The delegation will review sector-specific investment opportunities during the visit. These include retail innovation, skill development and allied industries.
The Telangana government said the initiative aligned with its long-term economic vision. It added that the project would strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a hub for international partnerships.
