Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police on Tuesday launched a dedicated helpline number for members of the Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC). The new line, +91 8712661555, will serve as a non-emergency communication channel for members to report safety concerns and coordinate on community policing initiatives.
Commissioner of Police and HCSC Chairman C V Anand, IPS, made the announcement while addressing a meeting organised for city-based jewellers. He urged business stakeholders to join hands with the HCSC in building a secure environment for residents and commercial establishments alike.
The Commissioner said the helpline is intended to enhance member participation and create a structured mechanism for engagement between the council and the city police.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, presented an overview of HCSC activities. He highlighted the organisation’s role in promoting safety across multiple sectors, including narcotics prevention, women’s safety, traffic regulation, infrastructure protection, and cybersecurity.
C Shekar Reddy, Secretary General of HCSC, encouraged jewellers to actively engage with HCSC programmes and take shared ownership of its goals. Also present were Prasanth Kumar, Joint Secretary of the CSR Forum, and P Pushpa, SP (Technical), TGICCC, who currently oversees the DCP SMIT role.
The Hyderabad City Security Council operates as a non-profit platform that connects police, public institutions, private sector entities, and citizens to collectively address urban safety challenges. Through partnerships and outreach, the HCSC implements strategies and awareness drives aimed at strengthening citywide security.
