Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar on Thursday warned YouTubers and social media influencers who use minors in videos merely to attract views. He reacted sharply to a clip on the Viral Hub YouTube channel that featured children in an objectionable manner.

Speaking on X (formerly Twitter), Hyderabad CP Sajjanar questioned the sense of ethics among such content creators. “How can you forget values just for views?” he asked. Moreover, he reminded influencers that social media fame should never come at the expense of a child’s dignity or safety.
Therefore, Sajjanar directed them to delete the videos immediately. He stated clearly that those who ignored the order would face strict legal action. In addition, he explained that such content amounts to a violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Juvenile Justice Act.
Strict legal warning and public appeal
Furthermore, the Commissioner urged influencers to produce videos that inspire society rather than exploit children. He also appealed to citizens to report any indecent material featuring minors on social media platforms. Complaints, he said, can be made by calling helpline number 1930 or through the National Cybercrime Portal at cybercrime.gov.in.
Meanwhile, in a message to parents, Sajjanar emphasised their responsibility toward children’s mental and emotional health. “Your duty is not only to raise children but also to protect their childhood, mental health, and future. Keep them away from harmful content and create a positive, value-based environment,” he said.
