Hyderabad: BRS leader T Harish Rao criticised the Congress government over the TGSRTC fare hike and demanded an immediate rollback. He alleged that the increase had placed an additional burden on passengers across Telangana.
According to Harish Rao, the AC bus fare between Hyderabad and Hanamkonda rose from ₹410 on August 20 to ₹570 on September 11. As a result, the ticket cost increased by ₹160 for a single passenger within 20 days.
He questioned the government over fare increases across routes without prior notice. At the same time, he asked whether such a decision was justified.

Harish Rao accused the Congress government of increasing the financial burden on commuters. He also contrasted the government’s promises of free schemes with higher charges in practice.
Furthermore, the BRS leader demanded an immediate reduction in the revised fares. He said the government should stop imposing additional costs on passengers.
He also warned the Congress government against arbitrary fare increases. According to Harish Rao, the BRS would not remain silent if the government continued raising charges.
Therefore, he called for an immediate rollback of the increased fares. Harish Rao said the government should stop placing a financial burden on the public through higher bus charges.
